Bénévent is situated in La Creuse to the north east of Limoges.
It lies on the famous ‘pilgrim trail‘, the route from Louvain in Belgium to Santiago de Compostella in northern Spain.
The Abbey in the village was built by local master masons renowned for their craftsmanship who were responsible for the construction of many Parisienne monuments of note.
